1.16 Add Roles
Staff Roles
You will want your staff to have relevant permissions based on their role so here is the place to do it.
You will be able to limit access to certain areas of your POS system as well as set limits for discounts and refunds, as well as many other settings.
To add a staff role:
- Open the Manage tab in the Back Office and then under the Staff sub-tab select Staff Roles
- Click Add Roles at the top right of the page
- Name the Role and Describe it
- Check the Permissions box to decide what actions this user can take
- Show Till Admin Options
- Show Till Stock Options
- Show Till Transaction Options
- Show Till Discount Options
- Show Till Customer Options
- Click Add on the bottom right
To edit a role:
- Click Edit next to the Role Name
- Enable/disable the checkboxes to the right of the name
- You may have to click and drag the menu to see all permissions
- Click Update next to the Role Name to save
To delete a role:
- Navigate to the role and click and drag to the far right
- Click the red X to the right of the row
Additional customisation
Once added, you will have further options to customise the role.
These options are self-explanatory, but there a few things to pay attention to:
โBlind end of dayโ - When enabled, this option prevents the member of staff closing the EPOS system to see what the expected balance is, meaning that they have to report on the total cash and card and thereby preventing theft.
If you wish for your staff member to have no limit on a type of discount or refund, simply leave the field blank.
Preventing admin access on the till to restricts access to the following:
- Adjust Float
- Back Office
- Change Till Location
- Close Till
- Edit Table Plan
- No Sale
- Petty Cash
