Understanding sales reports

The sales reports show a magnitude of data which can be broken down into time period, location, device and staff. Some reports (sales by product) will have a search function for specific products. They can also be split between categories and reporting categories. 

Select the report you want to set up:

Time Intervals

In this report, you can view the transactions made by time interval.

1. Log into your Epos Now Back Office 
2. Go to REPORTING > Sales Reports > Time Intervals
3. Here you are able to see the what sales have been put through the till in the selected time frames 
4. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday
   • This Week 
   • This Month 
   • This Quarter
   • Last week 
   • Last Month 
   • Last 7 days 
   • Last 14 Days 
   • Last 30 days 
   • Last 60 days 
   • Last 90 days 
   • Custom - You can input the desired date range using the two calendars
5. You are able to filter the results by:
   •  Location
   • Device
   • Staff
   • Wet/Dry
6. Select the time intervals you would like the data to show 
   • Yearly
   • Quarterly
   • Monthly 
   • Weekly 
   • Daily 
   • Hourly
   • Half Hourly 
7. The report will automatically generate based on the inputted data and what you will see is a breakdown of what has happened in that time frame including sales, margins, refund amounts and discounts and promotions. 
8. These can be exported to CSV, Word, Excel or printed by using the options at the bottom of the screen.

Time Period 

In this report, you can view the sales grouped by time e.g. Monday, Tuesday etc...

1. Log into your Epos Now Back Office 
2. Go to REPORTING > Sales Reports > Time Period
3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday
   • This Week 
   • This Month 
   • This Quarter
   • Last week 
   • Last Month 
   • Last 7 days 
   • Last 14 Days 
   • Last 30 days 
   • Last 60 days 
   • Last 90 days 
   • Custom - You can input a desired date range using the two calendars

Time Comparisons 

In this report, you can compare a combination of metrics against two time periods. 

Eg. Transaction Qty from this month compared with last month

1. Log into your Epos Now Back Office 
2. Go to REPORTING > Sales Reports > Time Comparisons
3. Select the desired Metric you want compared from the drop-down, 
   • Transaction Qty
   • Refund Qty 
   • Refund Value 
   • No Sale Qty 
   • Voided Qty
   • Voided Value 
   • Item Qty
   • Sales Inc Tax
   • Discounts and Promotions 
   • Average Transactions Net Sales

4. Then select the Date range

6. Select the time intervals you would like the data to show 
   • Monthly

7. The report will automatically generate based on the inputted data and what you will see is a comparison breakdown of your desired metrics and time frame.
8. These can be exported to CSV, Word, Excel or printed by using the options at the bottom of the screen.

Sales by Product (Daily Sales)

View the daily sales of all the products that have been sold, including the number of units, money taken (inc. & exc. Tax), discount, total cost price and total margin. View sales by stock batch by clicking the total sales value in the table.

1. Log into your Epos Now Back Office 
2. Go to REPORTING > Sales Reports > Sales by Product Report 
3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday
   • This Week 
   • This Month 
   • This Quarter
   • Last week

   • Last 14 Days 
   • Last 30 days

5. Use the Search by Product Name bar to add the applicable products to your report or Filter by Tags and hit Search
6. The report will automatically generate based on the inputted data
7. These can be exported to CSV, Word, Excel or printed by using the options at the bottom of the screen.

Employees (Sales by Employees Report)

In this report, you can view the transactions made by each member of staff as well as how much money each member of staff has taken.

1. Log into your Epos Now Back Office 
2. Go to REPORTING > Sales Reports > Employees 
3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday
   • This Week 
   • This Month 
   • This Quarter
   • Last week 
   • Last Month 
   • Last 7 days 
   • Last 14 Days 
   • Last 30 days 
   • Last 60 days

Locations (Sales by Location Report)

In this report, you can view the transactions made at each location as well as how much money each location has taken.

1. Log into your Epos Now Back Office 
2. Go to REPORTING > Sales Reports > Locations 
3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday
   • This Week

Size (Sales by Size Report)

In this report, you can view the transactions made by size.

1. Log into your Epos Now Back Office 
2. Go to REPORTING > Sales Reports > Size 
3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday
   • This Week 
   • This Month 
   • This Quarter
   • Last week 
   • Last Month 
   • Last 7 days 
   • Last 14 Days

5. You can also use the Search by Size bar to search for a particular transaction size
6. The report will automatically generate showing you a breakdown of sales by locations
7. These can be exported to CSV, Word, Excel or printed by using the options at the bottom of the screen.

Misc Products (Miscellaneous Sales)

Shown in this report is the value of sales being made using miscellaneous products.

1. Log into your Epos Now Back Office 
2. Go to REPORTING > Sales Reports > Misc Products
3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday
   • This Week 
   • This Month 
   • This Quarter
   • Last week 
   • Last Month 
   • Last 7 days 
   • Last 14 Days 
   • Last 30 days 
   • Last 60 days 
   • Last 90 days 
   • Custom - You can input the desired date range using the two calendars

5. The report will automatically generate a breakdown of sales processed as miscellaneous products.
6. These can be exported to CSV, Word, Excel or printed by using the options at the bottom of the screen.

Wet & Dry 

Shown in this report is how much money has been turned over within the wet and dry categories.

1. Log into your Epos Now Back Office 
2. Go to REPORTING > Sales Reports > Wet & Dry
3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday
   • This Week 
   • This Month 
   • This Quarter
   • Last week 
   • Last Month 
   • Last 7 days 
   • Last 14 Days 
   • Last 30 days 
   • Last 60 days 
   • Last 90 days 
   • Custom - You can input the desired date range using the two calendars
4. You are able to filter the results by:
   • Location

5. The report will automatically generate showing you a breakdown of sales separated by these categories.
6. These can be exported to CSV, Word, Excel or printed by using the options at the bottom of the screen.

Covers (Covers Report)

In this report, you can view the number of covers (number of people served) for any given period. You can use the drop-down on this page to select the time interval by which the covers are grouped.

Note: Covers are only tracked if "Set Covers on Table Plan" is checked in the Back Office

2. Go to REPORTING > Sales Reports > Covers
3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday

5. Select the time interval in the Show by Time Interval Dropdown box

Promotions Report 

In this report, you can view the promotions that have been put through between the dates selected on the calendars. You can see each of the promotions which have been used, the number of these promotions which have been processed, the average amount of discount given for each promotion, and the total amount that has been given in the promotions.

3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down,

Brands (Turnover by Brand)

This page shows how much money has been turned over within brands.

Note: This report does not include Miscellaneous products or Service Charges.

3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday

   • Last 90 days

Customer Types (Sales by Customer Type)

Shown in this report is the breakdown of your sales based on customer types. For example, if you had a customer type named 'Member' you can see (by clicking on 'Show Products') which products have been sold to all of your customers who are Members.

Reporting Categories (Turnover by Reporting Category)

Reporting categories can be used to group categories in a more manageable way for reporting. You can set a reporting category for each category in your back office. This report will then allow you to compare sales between these categories.

3. Input the applicable time frame into the 'Show Data From' drop-down, 
   • Today
   • Yesterday

Till Categories (Turnover by Till Category)

Till categories define how products are grouped together on the till. This report allows you to compare sales from each till category.

   • Today
   • Yesterday

Shown in this report is the breakdown of your sales based on whether the order was Eat In or Eat Out.
